Description
External roller shutters are still an extremely practical but underestimated solution. In adverse weather conditions, they form a barrier that effectively protects the interior against heat loss. In summer, on the other hand, they provide excellent protection against overheating of interiors, while at the same time reducing the use of air conditioning equipment and thus reducing building operating costs. The roller shutter installed according to the system provider’s guidelines has very good acoustic properties, which significantly reduces the perception of noise coming from outside. Roller shutter systems can be additionally integrated with an insect screen, which guarantees effective protection of rooms against insects. In addition, a properly selected system of external roller shutters can provide protection against burglary. A roller shutter can instantly deter a burglar as burglars tend to be lazy and look for the easiest and quickest break in point. If they see a property with roller shutters and a property next to it without shutters, you know which one they will pick!
The roller shutters curtains are most often made of profiles manufactured of high-quality aluminium sheet, filled with polyurethane foam, with special double-layer varnish coatings in the PU/PA system. Such solution makes them more resistant to abrasion and weathering. There are also profiles made of extruded aluminium, which are more rigid and stable, and plastic profiles, which are used depending on the selected system.
The F39 Shutter is suitable for many applications where the highest level of security is not required but acts as a deterrent and has full automatic locking system. It has the choice of vents in the profile which can let air and light in whilst cooling the property when not fully closed. It comes with 53mm guide rails as standard or you can upgrade to upgraded security 68mm guides as the slat sits deeper into the rails. Operated via a 240v motor as standard, you have choices of wired rocker switches or the upgrade to a radio motor to enable wireless control. You can also add the basic smart hub so you can operate the shutters from your smartphone at any time. The upgraded smart hub also has the function of scenarios where you can set them to open and close at particular times on a schedule. Along with smart sensors, they could also close if the room gets to a certain temperature.

Warranty
The operation of the shutter along with the finish of the curtain, guide rails and box is guaranteed for a period of 2 years. The standard motor is also guaranteed for 2 years. If you choose to upgrade to the Somfy motor, this is guaranteed for 5 years. See our Terms & Conditions page for full warranty details.
Measuring Guide
Please see below image of how to measure for the roller shutter. Opening width is between the guide rails and overall width is including the rails. This also applies to the height so the opening height is underneath the bottom slat and overall height is including the box.
Remember to take into account the bottom slat hanging down in the guides when the shutter is fully open. This will prevent it being in the way of an opening out door or window. We will always add this on for you unless there is isn’t sufficient headroom in which case we will get in touch before proceeding with production.
Delivery Time
Standard delivery time is 3-4 weeks unless you are located in Scotland or Cornwall. If you are located in Scotland or Cornwall, please get in touch to confirm the delivery time.
Occasionally there may be a slight delay on certain material but we will get in touch as soon as possible to inform you in this instance and keep you updated.
